The Handsling A1R0evo (pron. aero-evo) is the ultimate carbon road frame for those seeking to build a true do-it-all superbike
Using proprietary moulds, the A1R0evo utilises Toray T800 carbon fibre, in a race winning formula that is a successful in professional racing as it is popular with amateur enthusiasts
As standard the frame comes in a gloss carbon finish, sprayed with a lightweight lacquer that shows off the carbon lay-up underneath. Custom paint is available on request
The A1R0evo was designed 100% in-house and engineered by one of the best in the business who put it through a rigorous, destructive, stress testing procedure to surpass ISO standards in factory, before it was road tested here in the UK
The UCI-approved A1R0evo is manufactured using bladder wrapped internal EPS moulds. which provide increased carbon compaction of the light and stiff Toray T800 carbon in the unique moulds owned exclusively by Handsling
This results in a size 52 frameset weighing approximately 920g (+/-), comfortably building into a bike of less than 7.5kgs
The A1R0evo is a fantastic handling frame, with neutral geometry that is stable on descents, while being fast-reacting and nimble through the turns, remaining ready to respond in all situations
The stiff and aero hourglass head tube leads into an oversized downtube, that flairs out to a full width BB86 bottom bracket shell. BB86 press fit is still the ultimate bottom bracket standard for high performance frames. Handsling refuses to compromise on this and adopt cheaper to produce threaded units
The front fork is asymmetric in design to withstand the severe twisting forces imposed by modern discs under hard braking. The rear chainstays are also asymmetric but to withstand the pedalling forces applied from the chainset on the driveside at the rear triangle
The tube shapes are all truncated, D-shaped aerofoils, including the seatpost, making the A1R0evo aerodynamic in all conditions, and the integrated cables provide clean aero lines to further cheat the wind
While it is stiff and aero, the frame was developed as a do-it-all road frame, being optimised for all-day comfort, with room for big 32mm tyres and a unique tapered seattube designed to help absorb road vibration
The thin seatpost is an aero, truncated D-shape and utilises a non-stick seat clamp expander bolt hidden under the top tube
The A1R0evo is truly race proven having been ridden by 3 professional teams to multiple professional race wins in the UK, the USA and Europe
The A1R0evo frameset includes:
- Integrated 1.5″ headset bearings
- Dedicated aero seatpost
- Handsling superlight thru axles 142x12mm and 100x12mm
- Clamp for standard saddle rails. Please request clamp for carbon oval saddle rails if required
The Handsling integrated race handlebar is sold separately. The one piece carbon stem and handlebar is available in either 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13cm stem lengths with either 36, 38, 40 or 42cm widths
All Handsling frames have a limited lifetime warranty
