The all-new Falcon Horizon Low Step electrichybrid bike is one of the best value electric bikes on the market. Wellsuited for a comfortable commute to work or a weekend ride into town onthe roads, canal towpaths or country parks.
TheHorizon is equipped with a low step frame that makes getting on-and-offthe bike quick and easy and is suitable for riders 5’0” to 5’10” (152cmto 178cm). The frame has an integrated 375wh battery that delivers upto 40 miles/64km of range and can be charged from flat in 5 hours –either on the bike or removed for charging indoors if you don’t haveeasy access to a plug socket near your bicycle storage.
Thebike is powered by the well-regarded Bafang rear hub motor system thatdelivers 32nm of torque, making light work of hills and flat terrainriding a breeze. The motor has 3-power modes depending on how muchassistance you want which are selected using the sleek and easy-to-usehandlebar display which also shows the battery level and current speed.We’ve also fitted a walk assist mode that engages the motor to helpdrive the bike when pushing up steep hills.
TheHorizon is fitted with a 1×7 speed Shimano gearing system with anupgraded Altus trigger shifter for quality feeling gear changes and lowmaintenance mechanical disc brakes. The front suspension fork has 80mmof travel to deliver a smoother ride on uneven terrain, and we’ve fitteda hydraulic lockout to switch the fork ‘off’ on less-bumpy parts of theride.
The adjustable stem ensuresthat you can tweak the handlebars so that you are as comfortable aspossible when reaching for the ergonomic lock-on grips. The remainingcontact points are covered by a padded Selle Royal Freeway saddle andcity style pedals.
For safety andpeace of mind, the Horizon is fitted with puncture protected tyres thathave a reflective sidewall strip to increase visibility in low light andnighttime riding. For convenience it has a pannier rack with rearreflector, full length mudguards and kickstand.
